1. Introduction
Welcome to Social Walks. By accessing our website or participating in any Social Walks activity or event, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.
2. Participation
- Social Walks organises guided outdoor group events that include walking, hiking, paddleboarding, camping, and other nature-based social activities.
- Participation is open to individuals aged 18 years and over, unless otherwise stated.
- Individuals under 18 are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times.
- All participants must register for each event via the official Social Walks booking platform (Eventbrite) and agree to the Event Waiver, available at: https://www.socialwalks.com.au/terms/event-waiver.
- Social Walks reserves the right to refuse participation to anyone behaving in a manner deemed unsafe, disruptive, or inappropriate to others.
3. Safety and Personal Responsibility
- While every effort is made to ensure the safety of participants, you acknowledge that all outdoor activities carry inherent risks including but not limited to injury, illness, or loss of property.
- By attending any Social Walks event, you agree to take full personal responsibility for your own health, safety, and actions during the activity.
- Participants must wear suitable clothing and footwear and bring adequate water, food, sun protection, and weather-appropriate gear.
4. Fitness and Health
- It is your responsibility to ensure that you are physically fit and healthy enough to participate in any event you register for.
- Social Walks staff and guides are not medical professionals and cannot assess your suitability for participation.
- If you have any medical conditions or injuries, you should consult your healthcare provider before joining an event.
5. Event Cancellations and Refunds
- Events may be cancelled or rescheduled due to weather, safety concerns, low attendance, or unforeseen circumstances.
- Where possible, participants will be notified in advance and offered alternative dates or a refund.
- Refund policies for ticketed events will be clearly stated at the time of booking. Membership fees are non-refundable except where required by Australian Consumer Law.
6. Memberships
- Social Walks offers optional membership plans that include benefits such as free monthly walks, discounted event tickets, and member-only events.
- Members using free or discounted tickets must register through the official Social Walks booking platform (Eventbrite) to secure their spot.
- Free and discounted member tickets are only valid if the participant has an active, paid membership at the time of the event. If a membership is cancelled prior to the event date, the benefit will be forfeited and a ticket may need to be re-purchased at full price.
- Free and discounted tickets are for personal use only and cannot be used to purchase tickets for non-members, friends, or family.
- Membership benefits are subject to change and will be communicated in advance when applicable.
- Membership fees are non-refundable except as required under Australian Consumer Law.
7. Transfers and Substitutions
- Event bookings are generally non-transferable unless otherwise stated. However, some events may allow name changes or substitutions if arranged in advance.
- In the case of prize draws or giveaways, terms specific to the competition will apply and may include clauses around transferability and use-by dates.
8. Photography and Media
- As part of the Social Walks experience, we regularly take photographs at events and share them on our social media channels and promotional platforms.
- By participating in an event, you consent to being photographed. If you do not wish to appear in any published images, please notify the guide prior to the start of the walk, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
9. Code of Conduct
- Social Walks promotes a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants.
- Discrimination, harassment, aggression, or inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated and may result in immediate removal from events or cancellation of membership without refund.
10. Website Use
- The content on this website is for general information only. While we aim for accuracy, we make no guarantees and accept no liability for reliance on this information.
- You may not copy, distribute, or use any part of the website content for commercial purposes without written permission.
- Any unauthorised access or misuse of the website may result in legal action.
11. Changes to Terms
